rumor has it, this person brought in some construction paper for the kids to make fake skateboards out of.

lame.

he also brought in a bunch of styrofoam and toothpicks for the kids to paint and create all kinds of random crap with.

one of those ‘art projects’ is sitting on the table next to me.

its supposed to be spongebob-complete with toothpicks for eyelashes and stab wounds.

but really, it looks like a small cake.

i keep seeing it out of the corner of my eye.

craving a piece of vanilla cake with yellow frosting.

it kind of bugs me that hittle house brought someone in to do this stuff with the kids.

they didnt ask me to do it… and i have history here.

i was the one who did all the original crazy art and science projects with these guys.

i could have came in for a few hours twice a week to keep my standing up.

one of the kids has hashmarks on a piece of paper on his door.

the title of it: ‘days ive been at hittle house’

i put a neon pink post it up on his door asking him why he’s living in the past.

i asked ‘do you really miss the person you were?’

hopefully the answer is ‘no’.

the note concluded with ‘why not count the days until you are successfully discharged?’

im sure he doesnt care.

but maybe it’ll make him think a little bit.

i had to wake up one of the boys for his mid-night pee break.

he had wet his bed earlier, so all of his linens were in the dryer when i woke him.

before he got back into bed, i told him to get the blanket off his bed.

he kinda just looked at me all sleepy like-with messy hair and bloodshot eyes.

i grabbed his temporary blanket and took it over to the hamper.

he just looked at me like ‘what the hell are you doing?! its freezing in here!!!’

i walked to the dryer-pulled out his comforter-and ran back to his bed tucking him in.

(yes i really ran back. and yes-he laughed at the visual of me running with his cleveland browns comforter)

his eyes lit up. and he fell back to sleep.

that was about 3 hours ago.

other than those 2 things, i have done a whole lot of nothing.

well, i read.

and washed my own sheets.

but nothing out of the ordinary.

i miss having a dryer.

and someone to tuck me in.
